Events

In addition to the formal instruction through their rigorous coursework, a capstone project, and an internship experience, we also organize several events each year for the students to connect, learn about the field, and share their work.

  • Orientation: just before the start of classes, students receive a program overview, discuss curriculum with the faculty, and have an industry career panel.

  • Advisory Meeting/Internship Tours: in January or February each year, the students and faculty travel to La Jolla, CA; faculty meet with the Advisory Committee Meeting while first-year students tour the Internship Sites with the second-year students.

  • Symposium & Banquet: on the Friday and Saturday before Spring Quarter Finals week, the second-year students return to campus for an Internship Presentation Symposium, followed by our Program Banquet on Saturday night.

  • CIRM Trainee Meeting: in July, the recently-graduated students showcase their internship project with a poster presentation at the CIRM Trainee Meeting and celebrate the completion of their studies.
