Class of 2011
Education: BS and MS in Biology
Andrew wanted to apply to the program because of his "interest in how stem cells could be used to treat various diseases”. Also, he wanted to continue his education in San Luis Obispo because his “love for the central coast of California." After finishing the MS Stem Cell Technology program, Andrew wants to go on to study a combination of cancer, molecular and cellular biology in a doctoral program. His long term goals include researching the various aberrant molecular pathways involved in progression to cancer and also teaching some form of biology at an undergraduate level.
After graduating, Andrew taught science at an international school in Thailandwas before beginning a PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology at UC Davis, where he hopes to continue his research in stem cell biology and signal transduction.
