Advanced Cell Culture Techniques - BMED 5511

The purpose of this course is to learn the fundamentals of mammalian cell culture with an emphasis on T-Cell culture and the role of T-Cells in regenerative therapies.

Following the completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Effectively isolate, maintain, expand, split, and cryopreserve mammalian cells.
  2. Culture cells in a variety of vessels (T25-T225, well plates, G-REX) using proper aseptic technique.
  3. Perform a range of cell and molecular assays and techniques, including ELISA, electroporation, fluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry, Magnetic Activated Cell Sorting (MACS), and others.
  4. Maintain a documented record of all experiments in a laboratory notebook compliant with many standards outlined in Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) regulatory framework.
