Biography: 

Alyssa Pelayo is thrilled to join Cal Poly's Regenerative Medicine Master's program. With a background in animal science, she recognizes the crucial role animal cells play at the forefront of stem cell research and sees the field’s great potential to solve problems that affect all living beings. She is greatly interested in focusing on research involving induced pluripotent stem cells and how they offer solutions to diseases such as diabetes and arthritis. Upon completing the program, she hopes to continue research on stem cell therapies in the biotechnology industry, where she aims to combine her passion for medicine and veterinary science with cutting-edge stem cell research.
