Education: BS in Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology at UCLA; MS in Biological Sciences at Cal Poly

Biography: 

Madeline Kestler is interested in the field of stem cell research and regenerative medicine because of the potential for stem cell biology to provide insight into cancer and disease mechanisms. She is interested in gene regulation and epigenetic control involved in stem cells and wants to focus on the molecular mechanisms of cancer and degenerative diseases. She is most interested in continuing her work in molecular biology and broadening her experiences in cell biology while at Cal Poly. After graduating, she plans on pursuing innovation in biology through Research and Development work within biotech companies, or through academia with further education.
