Education: BS in Biological Sciences at Cal Poly; MS in Biological Sciences at Cal Poly

Biography: 

McKenna is interested in the field of stem cell research and regenerative medicine because of its application of targeting and treating modern day diseases and disorders at the source. She worked at Sarepta Therapeutics doing gene therapy research for two years after her undergraduate studies. There, she was a part of the neuroscience team where she found a passion for in vivo research its application to neurodegenerative disorders. She hopes to pursue this passion after the program and continue working on research for neuro-specific disorders.
