Kally Morozin
Class of 2021
Education: BS in Biomedical Engineering at Rose-Hulman; MS in Biomedical Engineering at Cal Poly
Biography
Kally’s interest in regenerative medicine stems from her belief that this field will revolutionize the approach to healthcare. She is inspired by the way that regenerative medicine seeks to find cures rather than just treatments for diseases. While she is excited to contribute to this field to anyway possible, Kally is particularly interesting in applying tissue engineering principles to orthopedics and finding osteoarthritis solutions. Following completion of the program, Kally looks forwards to either pursuing a career in research and development in tissue engineering or continuing her education. Wherever her future takes her, Kally is determine to entirely devote herself to propelling regenerative medicine into the forefront of the medical field.
Kally completed her internship at ViaCyte with the R&D engineering department managed by Craig McGreevy. She worked with Jonathan Valdez as her supervisor and mentor. ViaCyte’s goal was to develop a long-term treatment for Type 1 Diabetes by using a biologic-device combination product. During her time at ViaCyte, Kally participated in a wide range of projects including pre-clinical device verification testing of novel macro-encapsulation designs and concept & feasibility testing of a next-generation cell loading platform.
