Biography

Katie decided to apply to the CIRM program because she thinks it is a cutting edge field with huge potential. She is interested in researching the use of stem cells for their potential treatment with diabetes.  She hopes to make connections during her internship in order to continue her career in research either through industry or continuing on to earn a PhD.

After graduating, Kaitlyn obtained a position as a Clinical Research Coordinator at the UC Davis Medical Center.

Katie's research internship resulted in a publication in May 2014 in Stem Cell Research.
