Biography

Lakshmi is interested in Regenerative Medicine because of its enormous potential in addressing the needs for tissue and organ transplants across the world. She is interested in musculoskeletal disorders and cancer biology. After the CIRM program, she hopes to continue on to PhD and be involved in academia.

Lakshmi is interning at the Rando Lab at Stanford University. She is working with Dr. Thomas Rando. The lab is working to understand satellite cell proliferation in the context of volumetric muscle loss (VML). Lakshmi's role in the project is to 3D print different scaffolds of different compositions and biomaterials that will enhance satellite cell viability.
