Biography
Madison is interested in stem cell research because she believes that it has the potential to revolutionize medicine and advance treatment options for those who suffer from chronic disease. Regenerative medicine provides the opportunity to develop cures for diseases where symptom management is all that is currently available. She is particularly interested in working in vascular related medicine, with either a neuro or peripheral specialization. Her plan is to continue working in the research of biotherapeutics, in either academia or the private sector.
Madison is interning in the R&D Engineering department at ViaCyte with her supervisors Chris Folk and Andres Aguirre. She is assisting in the verification and validation testing of the company’s biologic-device combination product developed for treatment of Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes.
